Use of British Standards in Scotland15.03.2010

Following a meeting between the BCSA President, Jack Sanderson and Professor Russel Griggs chairman of the Regulatory Review Group for Scotland, the Scottish Government Building Standard Division has agreed to include a list of both the Eurocodes and the soon to be withdrawn British Standards (i.e. BS 5950 etc) in the guidance issued by Building Standards in Scotland. The Scottish Technical Handbooks will be amended to reflect this change. Effectively this change means that British Standards such as BS 5950 can continue to be used in Scotland after 31st March 2010.
