A new £1 million 'Target Zero' project is looking at five major building types (schools, warehouses, offices, supermarkets and mixed use) and will generate fully-costed solutions demonstrating how to achieve the three highest BREEAM ratings and meet the changes to Part L of the Building Regulations.
The Register of Qualified Steelwork Contractors Scheme for Bridgeworks (RQSC) is open to any Steelwork Contractor who has a fabrication facility within the European Union.
Applicants may be registered in one or more category to undertake the fabrication and the responsibility for any design and erection of:
PG Bridges made principally from plate girders
TW Bridges made principally from trusswork
BA Bridges with stiffened complex platework (eg in decks, box girders or arch boxes)
CM Cable-supported bridges (eg cable-stayed or suspension) and other major structures (eg 100 metre span)
MB Moving bridges
RF Bridge refurbishment
FG Footbridge and sign gantries
AS Ancillary structures in steel associated with bridges, footbridges or sign gantries (eg grillages, purpose-made temporary works)
X Unclassified
